Present trend of search is towards high power, small size and stable laser crystals. Meanwhile, its wide range of applications indicates the importance of the material science. The consistent of binding arrangement of some atoms or molecules is so called “crystal structure”. The performance of its physical, optical and electrical properties of crystals are depended on the rearrangement of the atoms in the crystal. The best way to learn more about the inner structure of crystal is to measure and analyze its optical spectrum. In this thesis, we are discussing about the research results of the transmission spectrum, Raman spectrum and fluorescence spectrum of the yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) crystals doping with specific concentration (15%) of ytterbium ion (Yb3+) but in different thickness (1㎜、10㎜) and different heat treatment (annealing) temperature. According to the analysis of the experiments we found that heat treatment temperature can only have the impact on transmission spectrum in lower wavelength, and such phenomenon will continue until the temperature is heated up to 1200℃.
