In order to collect related data, a questionnaire survey was conducted in this research. The targets studied were college military instructors in our country. A fixed percentage of 312 copies of questionnaires were sent out to the military instructors selected randomly by the stratified sampling method, and 238 questionnaires, which was 76.3 percent of the total number, returned. 312 copies of questionnaire about the job performance evaluation were sent to the supervisors of the studied targets, and 247 copies, 79.2 percent, returned. The returned satisfaction questionnaires were all usable. But due to the restriction that the questionnaires are usable only when both the studied target and his/her supervisor’s return their questionnaires, the usable questionnaires were totally 224 copies. The tool used in this study is the questionnaire of “A study of the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance among college military instructors” written by the researcher who studied, analyzed the related documents first, then compiled the questions. The data collected was analyzed with SPSS for Windows (version 11.5). The results of this study based on the data analysis were as follow: Among the five dimensions of job satisfaction, which were benefit and allowance, administration support, leading style, peer relations and role esteem, the satisfaction of peer relations was the highest while administration support was the lowest. In the elements of evaluating job performance, military instructors perceived that they perform best in students’ daily lives services, then, teaching; campus-security works come the third. This study also found that concerning with military instructors on duty in school offices or in dormitories, there were distinguished differences in the outcomes due to the convenience of accommodation provided by the schools, and the perception of whether they were respected by the school staff between schools. In general, female military instructors had perceived lower job satisfaction and lower job performance compared to male participants. In the constructs of campus-security duties, significant differences in security education and emergency situations or problems handling were found in this study. This study also found that job performance improves along with the seniority and the promotion of rank or position of military instructors. In general, the positive relevance relationship between job satisfaction and job performance of military instructors was found in this study; only the degree of the relevance was medium to low. Further studies, including the extended of the studied samples and the broadening of variables were suggested in this study. In addition, the applications for military instructors as well as the policy makers were recommended in this study. Key words: military instructors, job satisfaction, job performance LIN, SHIH LING 林思伶 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 188 zh-TW
