Description
Summary:碩士 === 華梵大學 === 工業設計系碩士班 === 92 === The purpose of the research was to investigate the relationship between young consumers and their viewpoints of the design interface of nine major electronic products. Focus was placed upon how they rank the importance of the design interface, and how the interface design of different products shapes their preference. In the study, eight catagories of interface design features collected from Veryzer(1999) and Norman et al., (2000) such as consistency, dialogue, mapping, safety, perceptivity, operation, hint, feedback and learnability were used to evaluate the user interface of electronic products. The study employed Q-Methodology, accompanied with Q-factor analysis, cluster analysis and ANOVA to investigate the types of young consumers'' cognition of user interface, and the variance and connection of the interface design between different types of electronic products. The results indicated that young consumers'' viewpoint of the interface can be divided into eight categories : 1) Efficiency type, 2) Adaptation type, 3) Learning type, 4) Safety type, 5) Comfort and Convenience type 6) High-Demanding type, 7) Novice users, and 8) Matching type. The study found that the consumers have some knowledge of the features of the interface design of the electronic products, realizing the differences of the major types. But on the one hand, when they were looking at different types of the products, their ranking of the importance of the interface design varied. While the operating interfaces of PC, PDA and digital cameras are very similar, being focused on their recognizable and common features, the microwave is focused on the mapping aspect. On the other hand, the emphasis of the copy machines, fax machines, music players and electronic dictionaries is their safety because of their similar design interface. However, the order of the importance of the interface design features of these products does not correspond with the subjects'' perception of the importance of all the electronic products. While designing an interface, it is necessary that the cunsumers'' cultural background and their experience be taken into consideration. Finally, the study made an analysis of the characteristics of nine categories of electronic products and the viewpoints of the eight major types of subjects toward the interface design of the products, trying to find out the design features of the electronic products helpful to industrial designers in interface design.
