| Summary: | 碩士 === 義守大學 === 管理科學研究所 === 92 === Kaoshiung Port is strategically located on the south western coast of Taiwan and provides a world-wide seaborne traffic link with almost all the major ports in the world. The government of Taiwan is planning to develop Kaoshiung Port as "Free Trade Port" in the Asia-Pacific region.
The purpose of this research focus on the competitiveness of Kaoshiung Port. This paper is not carried out by exploring Kaoshiung Port to investigate what competitiveness of Kaoshiung Port can be suitable for the port and how it can be distinct from this research to help multi-views in relation to the future.
This research report contribution will combine the case study with action research to make a way for raising the competitiveness to Kaoshiung Port. To start with, the study has examined a primitive "transition from the offshore shipping" of Kaoshiung Port, based on literature review and personal experience,and then conducted a series of interviews with to design the free trade port of Kaoshiung for possible modification.
In addition, the results of this research can be a useful approach for Kaoshiung Port authority and government departments to consider and evaluate the competitiveness of Kaoshiung Port in the future.
