Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 職業安全衛生研究所碩士班 === 92 === The workers who often work overtime may have experience on the work-related musculoskeletal Disorders (WSMD) because the steel raw material supply were unable to meet the demand in 2003. The Ergonomic Checklists have been used to identify ergonomic risk factors (ERF’s) in work environment, but the suitability of steel industry still need to discuss. The aim of the study was to explore the suitability on the Baseline Risk Identification of Ergonomic Factors (BRIEF) checklist in the steel industry and cooperate the software of Biomechanics simulation and Electromyography (EMG) measure to provide the recommendation of using BRIEF in-plant.
The subjects were 128 package workers. First, we used questionnaire to survey the musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) of workers; second, we did the job analysis and BRIEF checklist assess; Third, we analyzed the work load situation by biomechanics software and measured the force of muscles in work activity by EMG. Finally, we synthesized all the results to assess the suitability on the BRIEF checklist in steel industry.
The results showed that the questionnaire survey of MSD were 42.2%; when the data based on the questionnaire, the BRIEF sensitivity was 54.3% and specificity was 42.0%; when the data based on the biomechanics, the BRIEF sensitivity was 61.9% and specificity was 45.8%; the percentage of MVC of workers were higher than 10% by EMG, showed that the workload was heavy, and the effects of long-term working maybe cause damage.
The advantage of BRIEF checklist was used to assess the body segment, high repeat and short-term period of work clearly; the limitation was difficult to assess high repeat long-term period of work, the details of lower limbs classification and the accuracy would be effect by objective of observer. The advantage of biomechanics software can realize the workload situation and poor posture angle; the limitation was measurement of force depend on workers activity and can be analyzed error by film angle. The advantage of EMG was that it has high confidence of data, it can know the force of working and the physical examination can assist to decide the occupational disease; the limitation was the variables were not easy to control in-plant, the data analysis was complicated to stick with paste surface electrodes, not only waste time but effect workers to work.
