Furthermore, poor notion of being law-abiding and prevalent opportunistic behaviors, cause constant accidents and create many injuries and deaths. Therefore, it becomes very important for Taiwan’s government and its people to work on reducing violations of drivers, lowering road accidents, and increasing road safety for drivers. Among many traffic safety improvement issues, how to raise drivers'' awareness of safe driving and how to provide traffic safety education for right driving are most important. This study uses drivers who are charged with traffic violations and required by Motor Vehicles Highways in Keelong City to attend road traffic safety lectures as a research sample. It uses an experimental design that evaluates the research subjects'' driving behaviors before and after they attend the lecture. This study focuses on subjects’ levels of cognition, behaviors and attitudes, types of population structure, and special driving habits, which are asked in the survey and answered by the subjects. It analyzes their driving behaviors, the factors that the road traffic safety lecture affects them, and their evaluations of the lecture, to understand the effects of the lecture. Besides, it tracks down the research subjects'' driving behaviors through computerized drivers'' management system set up at the Motor Vehicles Highways in order to find out whether they have violated traffic laws again and compare their violation frequency before and after the lecture to understand the influence of traffic safety education on individual drivers'' driving behaviors. The study reveals that 80% of drivers who attended the lecture do not commit any traffic violation, and the rate of violating the same traffic law has greatly reduced. The influence of the traffic safety lecture on driver''s driving behaviors is evident. It has the moral force that condition trainees to behavior properly in their daily driving. Moreover, drivers who welcome creative teaching modes have less traffic violation rate than the traditional ones. Thus, when traffic safety education applies many creative ideas, its influence shows a big difference from what the traditional teaching mode makes. Overall, the road traffic safety lecture has a substantial effect on correcting violation of drivers and proves that traffic safety education is a useful tool in preventing traffic accidents. It directly affects drivers'' driving cognition, attitudes, behaviors, and skills. Traffic safety is an ideal pursued by people. Providing a safe driving environment is a goal that the Taiwan’s government wants to achieve. To get there, the first step is to make the whole society recognize the importance of traffic safety education. For the Motor Vehicles Highways, promoting road traffic safety is a long-term and enduring job and needs the help from other government agencies to bring it into effect. From now on, the idea of road rights should be promoted nationwide, traffic education and its popularization should be enhanced, and traffic laws should be thoroughly carried out. Building up an enterprise-like traffic management system and employing traffic safety policy as guiding principles can correct drivers'' inappropriate behaviors, improve traffic order effectively, and construct a modern society with civilized traffic. 作者未提供 作者未提供 李君如 洪啟東 學位論文 ; thesis 192 zh-TW
