Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立勤益技術學院 === 工業工程與管理系 === 93 === In order to develop Taiwan into a global logistics management center, the government has established two export process zones located in Taichung port and Taichung Tan-Ze area. Since the famous TFT-LCD company AUO built up factory in Taichung Science Park, several upstream and downstream TFT-LCD- related suppliers (i.e., white light source; Polarizer; Circuit Plate; Color Filter; Liquid Crystal Solution; Viewing Side; etc.,) have also established new plants near AU Optronics Corp in the three districts above. The specific supply chain base of liquid crystal display industry supply chain was already established in the Taichung area. Since Taiwan became a member of WTO, the TFT-LCD industry has been faced with serious global competition. Nevertheless, many TFT-LCD companies are still operated with a market-forecasting-oriented planning process called Push System. It has resulted in unbalanced production and shipment level associated with heavy excessive inventory across the supply chain. To reduce the total inventory amount, it is better to implement a shared information function across the TFT-LCD supply chain. Then, Taiwan’s TFT-LCD industry competence can be strengthened. The research program was cooperated with a local TFT-LCD industry. We had analyzed the traditional supply chain process for the specific TFT-LCD industry. Based on the supply chain operation reference model (SCOR), TFT-LCD supply chain process was modeled with a Java-based simulation system named Anylogic. The automated inventory replenishment policies : (s, S) and (s, Q), were associated with key performance indicators (KPIs) (e.g., total inventory cost, ordering cost) which had been implemented in the simulation model. The traditional TFT-LCD supply chain was modeled and analyzed by KPIs. We also had designed an alternative simulation model which was characterized by the Demand-Driven Supply Networks (DDSN) structure called Pull System. The Push and Pull systems have been simulated many times. We find that the inventory quantity of Push system is greater than that of Pull system. The integrated inventory cost of Push system is two to three times greater than that of Pull system. We also find that the ordering cost associated with (s, S) inventory replenishment policy is less than that associated with (s, Q). Finally, we conclude that the DDSN-enabled Pull system for TFT-LCD industry supply chain can achieve a greater performance
