On the part of the propulsor of ROV, there is a problem between the size of propulsor and the thrust required which result in smaller advanced coefficient than that of traditional marine propellers. It is necessary to design propellers for each ROV’s special condition. The rim-driven thruster is a newly developed propulsor. In this paper, the propulsor is designed by using B-series propeller optimized by genetic algorithm and by using proprlsor lifting line program(PLL). The design condition is according to the working condition of the ROV-Triggerfish. The results of the both designs will be compared with the original propulsor and their performance will be analyzed.
