Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 東南亞研究所 === 92 === Taking the comprehensive survey of the development about the party politics in Thailand, we should remember those had happened before. In 1932, the party politics under the thai constitutional monarchy began, then followed by the“Semi-Democracy”time since 1980 in the time of “military bureaucrat co-governed”, and then the military evacuated away from the Thailand politics after the“Black May”in 1992. In 1997 the newest constitution was established and fulfilled in Thailand. A new political party, the Thai Rak Thai Party, which established by Thaksin, won the great victory in the Congress election in 2001, that no one ever achieved before. In the past, there were the coups more than 20 times, the constitutions dethroned and enthroned more than 10 times in Thailand since 1932. The party politics of the Thailand swung forward to and fro. In 1973, there was the student movement against the thai military for asking democracy. Thai civil society (including the NGO, the bourgeoisie, student groups) challenge the thai military government in 1976. In 1992, the bourgeoisie finally terminated the“military authoritarian politics”in Thailand and set up the pure“civil politics”in Thailand. But not as their wishes, all thai political parties can not acquire the enough representing floors for consulting the government and should be allied with each other, no matter what the differences between them. Neither the ineffective government was criticized much more than before, nor they unfortunately met the“Asia financial crisis”in 1997. All what they tried were unavailable for the falling economics and the more problems happened, concerned with the poverty progression. The cabinet ministers were changed continuously, but the calamity was still existent. The traditional thai multi-party government politics seems to lose the battle and usually take no right way to do something. In 1998, there was a new party called“Thai Rak Thai Party”set up by Thaksin, the most rich man in Thailand, and it soon become the biggest party in Thailand, then won the nearly over-representing victory in Congress election in 2001. What had happened? How could the Thai Rak Thai Party make its best in party — construction, in Congress election, and in governing the post — financial crisis thai politics? What are its developmental strategies? There is coming the new thai party politics or not, if the Thai Rak Thai Party keeps its“One — dominant party governing”up. In spite of the Thai Rak Thai Party was the newest political party in Thailand, I shall make my best for the thesis reasonable and predictable thoroughly, because of its representing the changeover of the“new politics”in Thailand.
