Data were collected from Ministry of Education defined vocational senior high schools in 2002 which was composed of less than 600 students respectively. Among these vocational senior high schools, five schools were selected as case-study samples. After interviewing the school’s board of governors, principal, staff, and faculty of each school on the operation of the board, the communication of opinions, the operation of school administration, financial conditions, expenditures, facilities, enrollment, characteristics of school, the problems of school, and their solutions to those problems, conclusions were derived as follows: A. These five targeted schools are all privately-operated and their primary income source comes from the tuition and fees received from their students. These five schools had various problems when trying to develop, however they all confronted the similar problems: insufficiency of identification from students’ parents, conservative attitudes of the school’s board of governors towards investment, facilities and equipments which were needed to modernize, and fund shortages. B. The primary reasons for these problems included different perspective processed by the school’s board of governors, executives’ neglect of the improvement of school, the effects of natural catastrophe, the strategy of school expansion, and other crucial conditions such as improper location that caused students unwilling to attend. C. The feasible school administration strategies consisted of renovating the environment of school, adding innovative majors to address present realities, organizing a sound recruit team and preparing appropriate maneuvers, strengthening consulting service on the issue of student’s further study, creating school distinctiveness, assisting students to develop professional skills, and etc. Key words: toughly operated , private school , vocational senior high school , school management strategy 鍾瑞國 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 144 zh-TW |
