To fulfill this purpose, the method of quasi experiment design was used. The instruments of this study consisted of architectural facility attitude scale, spatial perception ability scale of architecture, achievement pre-test and post-test of architectural facility, assessment check list of technically practical competence in architecture; and the teaching materials of problem-based learning. The subjects of teaching experiment were two classes of students who studied in the curriculum of architectural facilities, Department of Architecture, Chaoyang University of Technology, at 2003, first and second semester. The students of each class were randomly assigned into experimental group or control group. The validly samples of this study consisted 97 students, including 47 students in experimental group and 50 students in control group. The experimental group adopted teaching approach of problem-based learning. It is slightly modified from Maastricht University medical programme, 7-jump model. The control group adopted the lecture teaching method. The main procedures of statistical analysis included One-way MANCOVA and MANOVA. The main finding of this study were described briefly as follows: 1.There was significant difference in the performance of architectural facility among students from different means entered the school. 2.The students who had more long work experience were significantly higher technically practical competence in architecture. 3.There was significant difference in the spatial perception ability scale of architecture among students were different years of learning architecture. 4.There was significant difference in the spatial perception ability scale of architecture among students were different academic background. 5.There were significant between two groups differences in terms of architectural facility attitude and technically practical competence in architecture.
