Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 國民教育研究所 === 92 === A study on the motivational orientation toward the participation in in-service education and self- efficacy in elementary school teachers in Chang-hua county A Thesis for the Master Degree of Education Hue-Ling Whuang National Chia-Yi University,2004 Abstract The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between motivational orientation and teachers’self- efficacy in elementary school teachers’ in-service education. The concrete purposes of this study were as the following: 1.To understand the motivational orientation and teachers’self- efficacy in elementary school teachers’ in-service education. 2.To explore the relationship between motivational orientation and teachers’ self- efficacy in elementary school teachers’ in-service education. 3.To explore the significant power of motivational orientation for teachers’ self- efficacy in elementary school. 4.Based on the results of this study, suggestions offered to the educational administration were presented . A total of 652 subjects were drawn from 100 schools in Chang-hua county. Three major instruments were used:”Basic backgrounds”,”The in-service education motivational scale” and “Teachers’ self- efficacy scale”. Statistical methods employed in this study were:descriptive statistics, t-test, Oneway ANOVA , Pearson product-moment correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The analysis of the data revealed the following main conclusions: 1.” Learning-desire” was the most important motivational orientation. 2. Beside the years of service, there’s obvious difference in the motivational orientation among elementary school teachers in different teachers’ backgrounds variables. 3.”To manage good connection between teachers and students” was the most important element in teachers’self- efficacy . 4. There’s obvious difference in teacher’s efficacy among elementary school teachers in different teachers’backgrounds variables. 5. There was a high relationship between motivational orientation and teachers’ self- efficacy in elementary school teachers’ in-service education. 6. “Learning-desire “was the best predictor for teachers’ self- efficacy. Finally, based on the results of this study, suggestions offered to the educational administration, teachers and the future study were presented .
