Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防管理學院 === 國防決策科學研究所 === 92 === The power transition theory is to study on when, how and why to initiate the war between dominant power and challenging power, and to prevent the countries from wars. Through the theory consistently provides us with a new perspective to observe the world. Based on the interaction between economics and security, power transition, the thesis explains how regional power become a dominant power. At the same time, the thesis predicts the approach and dynamic of a potential regional power to challenge dominant power. Due to the improvement of population quality, the economic growth , the stability of political reforms, the harmonious reconciliation of society and the elevation of international influence, PRC increases its potential power growth in recent years. From the point of view of power, although PRC can not challenge hegemony in short terms, it reveals the possibility of gaining the momentum to reach the status in the long terms. According to power transition theory, as long as keeping its continuous growth, PRC’s economy will take over that of the USA by 2025. Because of the sufficient resource and the growth of national power, PRC’s political leaders and elites are facing the real world with more confidence. In the short terms, although PRC is not satisfied with its status quo, it does not have enough power to challenge the current international orders. In order to avoid the conflicts with the international regime too early, to prevent the deceasing of it’s power and economic development, PRC will continue to devote itself to the economic development and the growth of national power.
