Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 進修部體育教學碩士班 === 92 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of 10-week table tennis teaching course on the hand-eye coordination, agility, and response ability of third grade elementary school students. In the researcher’s physical education classes, sixty-six students in total, whose average age is 8.94±.32 year, average height is 132,1±6.3 cm, average weight is 30.3±8.2 kg, the experiment group (18 male students and 15 female students) and the control group (18 male students and 15 female students) were selected as the subjects. The control group had taken only a pre-test and post-test. The experiment group received a pre-test, first then a table tennis teaching, and followed by post-test. The test items include hand-eye coordination (“Soda Pop” test and Chen’s hand-eye coordination test), agility (Burpee test and 10m×4 Shuttle Run), and response (upper limb grip response). The test data is analyzed with analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) to compare the difference between the experiment group and control group. The significance is α=.05. The results are as the following: 1.Hand-eye coordination: The results of “Soda Pop” test and Chen’s hand-and-eye coordination test show that the performance of the experiment group is superior to the control group with significance of p<.05. 2.Agility: The results of Burpee test and 10×4 Shuttle Run show that the performance of the experiment group is superior to the control group with significance of p<.05. 3.Response : The results of upper limb grip reaction show that the performance of the experiment group is superior to the control group with significance of p<.05. The conclusion is that 10-week table tennis teaching course significantly improves on the hand-eye coordination, agility, and response ability of third grade elementary school students. Based on this conclusion, I would like to bring up two suggestions: 1.Elementary health and physical education teachers can make table tennis one of the learning targets for their students when planning their courses. 2.As to when the experiment group’s learning reaches to the stable condition, the answer should remain be further studied, and the result can be used as the reference for planning the hours needed to teach table tennis course.
