Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東師範學院 === 心理輔導教育研究所 === 92 === Endless Tug-of-War A Narration of the Journey of Adjustment to Life as the Mother of an Autistic Child Abstract In this study, the author and an autistic child’s mother, through employed the narrative research method, to perceive the meaning of life and the manner we live our life. At the same time, the author constantly review the relationship between past, present and the future life in order to make good use of the experiences that the author already had. In addition, We integrate with distinguished self characteristics to establish the author’s own concept about life that will be fitted and effected most. With regards to the outlook of life of mother of the autistic child, the author found that there are philosophical and value similarity in attitude and behavior dealing with the Association of Autistic and the way these mothers lived their lives. These resources, coming from various shades of life experiences, become the author’s experiences. Every thinking, actions, and self-examination, become the self-internal logic. The mother of autistic child, although with her traditional value of life, has become tougher due to its influence of the current family. The philosophy and value of the mother of autistic child, continuously reveal, flow, and penetrate the Association. Through continuous narration and dialogue, through interaction of every parent, it has brought forth great influencing power. During the adaptation period of the mother of the autistic child, the significance is the support and acceptance by the teacher and family during the child’s school years. In many physical and mental despair families, the very thing that worries the mother is whether the child is being accepted. This test occurs in both schools and family. School is considered a small society. If the child is not being accepted in school, it is very likely that he or she will also be left out in the society. Many mother feel responsible and blame herself for bearing the autistic child. It is only with the family support that motivates the mother to move forward. Therefore, letting the public understand an autistic child and accepting them, is the important lesson on helping the mother to emerge out and live her life. As to the influence by participating in the narration study, because of the interference of the study by both the author and the mother of the autistic child, it offers us the opportunity to constantly moving forward, circulate within the automated organization, observing from the higher point, looking at the internal operation of this organization, writing down detail report of every influences, ruminating every course and its significance, finding new opportunity for its rebirth and rebuild, and restrictions place upon by culture and society, its relevancy, conflict, and meaning. The author hopes, through this life story, by emphasizing the study of language used in daily life, to let people understand more of the difficulties encounter by the family of autistic child, Let’s care for them and support them!
