Based on the result, relevant proposals will be provided for schoolteachers, educational administrative organization, teacher’s colleges, and future research. The information for this research was collected through literature analysis and questionnaires. Literature analysis includes relevant research on the professional development of teachers in Taiwan and abroad and their aesthetic images. The objects of the questionnaires are mainly from 48primary schools and 487 teachers in Kaohsiung County. The edited “questionnaire of professional development and aesthetic image of primary school teachers”was used as a tool and was written by the author. The collected information was analyzed with SPSS 8.01 software in Chinese and the statistical inethods used were t One-way Anyova. Scheffé, the Pearson product-moment correlation, multiple regression, and Canonical correlation. The results of the study are as follows: Ⅰ. The present status and variation of professional development and aesthetic image of primary school teachers. 1. The performance of professional development and aesthetic image is at a middle level. 2. Professional knowledge of female teachers is higher than male teachers. 3. The professional image of female teachers is higher than male teachers. 4. The general image of primary school teachers is higher than other. 5. Professional development at each teaching level at different ages reaches an obvious variation. 6. The aesthetic image of older teacher is higher than younger teachers. The more older the higher 7. The professional development of less experienced teacher is lower than a teacher who has more experience. 8. The aesthetic image of a teacher who has more experience is high. The more experience one has the higher the aesthetic image. 9. Professional development for teacher who is also in charge of administrative functions is higher than other. 10.The personal features and professional image for a teacher who is also in charge of administrative functions is higher than other 11. The professional attitude of primary school teacher who graduate from Teacher Qualification Class/Teacher Education is higher than teachers who graduate from Teachers College. 12. The aesthetic image of a primary school teacher who was taught by different teachers has obvious variation. 13. The professional development and aesthetic image of a teacher who does not study is lower than those who study. 14.The professional development and aesthetic image of teacher whose’school scope is different has noticeable variations. Ⅱ. The relevant correlation of professional development and aesthetic image of teachers 1. The positive correlation of the two is high. 2. The positive correlation of each aesthetic image is at a middle level. 3.The entire relevant correlation of professional development and aesthetic image in three levels is analyzed by a typical correlation.
