According to students’ responses in these questionnaires, researcher drew up “interview schema” to interview 6 male and 6 female students who were good at expressing their thought in tongue to understand students’ views toward the nature of science and image of scientist further. The results of this study were as following: (1) Students tended to hold contemporary views toward NOS filled with “relativity”. There was positive correlation (r=.553, p<.01) between students’ views toward the nature of science and science achievement. (2) There was no significant difference on the QENOS between different genders but in its subscale “the nature of inquiry” (p<.05). (3) A significant difference and correlation existed between the genders of scientists students drew and the genders of students(Phi=.377, p<.001). (4) Students’ understanding of the nature of science was that science and regular life are correlative closely, and they wished that science teachers could proceed the science curriculum by telling some scientific stories, asking students doing experiments by themselves, and making science curriculums more active and relaxed. According to the finding of this study, commendations about the process in this study, science teaching and researches in the future were purposed. 洪文東 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 175 zh-TW
