Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 土木工程系碩士班 === 92 === Public constructions are closely related to the life and farewell of citizen. Reinforced concrete is the most popular material in civil engineering due to its not only lower cost but also being well known by engineers. However the quality of the concrete usually dose not fulfill the requirements and the safety and duration of constructions are greatly reduced. The self-compacting concrete (SCC) is developed to overcome the shortcomings of traditional cement concrete. By better quality control and understanding the properties of SCC, an engineer can properly raise the safety and reliability and also lower the cost of a construction. SCC gradually becomes a main material in construction engineering in recent years. The mixing design in SCC requires more precise and complicated processes compared to those in the ACI Code. This study attempts to simplify the complicated processes in SCC mix design on an empirical basis. Aggregate from Lau-Noun Creek is used in SCC mix in the study. Ten SCC mix proportions with different W/B ratio are calculated by theoretical method and the trial mixes are tested until they meet the requirements of SCC. Empirical equations are developed by use of the results above to simplify the SCC mix design. Being compared with other qualified SCC mixing proportions, the proportions calculated from the empirical equations in this study could produce better results than the theoretical processes do. It shows that the method in this study could be fairly feasible and easy to use and worthy of further researches. Hopefully the results in this research could be helpful in promoting the use of SCC and raising quality of cement concrete construction.
