Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 工業工程與工程管理學系 === 92 === Driving assistance system has been proposed as safety solutions for safety-driving nowadays. However, it is also important to know how driving behaviors will be changed and is there any potential hazard while using these systems. Hence, this study focuses on finding a better driving assistant which can help the inexperienced drivers to avoid possible crashes and to eliminate the proneness of taking risks in narrow roads. The virtual reality technology was adopted to construct the simulated driving environment for testing the effectiveness of different driving assistance systems. Moreover, the statistical methods were applied to analyze the experiment results. The subjects did perform better in a narrow road with fewer number of collisions while receiving graded collision warnings in both of the test driving conditions. Moreover, the study also joined the control group which had no driving assistant to compare with different combinations of driving assistants in the specific narrow road. Graded warning system plus the visual enhancement device led to better driving performances in most of the test driving conditions. It has been verified that using graded warning signals plus the visual enhancement device can help drivers to make a suitable response whether it’s time to change their driving speed or it‘s only needed for slight awareness of the potential harms in different driving conditions.
