Also, this study was to examine the degree of influence of personal variables, background variables and personality on the scout-masters’ job satisfaction. This study is carried out by means of surveys. First of all, a review of the literature is presented to understand the meaning of job satisfaction and its related theories. And then the study employed “ Questionnaire of Job Satisfaction for the Scout-Masters in Junior High School” which was revised by researcher and send to 247 scout masters in Taiwan. All of the data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA analysis. The following results are presented as the conclusions of this study: 1.The level of overall job satisfaction of scout-masters tends to be unsatisfied. The satisfaction of scout masters in junior high schools tends to be satisfied in the aspects of “job itself”, “spiritual reward”, and “administration supervision”, while unsatisfied in the aspects of “benefit and treatment”, “supporters”, “environment and equipment”, and “opportunity to pursue further education”. 2.Some personal variables of the scout-masters in junior high schools are significantly related to their job satisfaction. (1)With regard to sex, the level of job satisfaction of male scout-masters is significantly higher than female scout-masters in the aspects of “benefit and treatment”, “environment and equipment” and “overall job satisfaction”. (2)With regard to age, the difference of job satisfaction of scout-masters in junior high schools is as below. A. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters between41and50 years old is significantly higher than scout-masters between 21 and 30 years old in the aspects of “job itself”, “spiritual reward”, “environment and equipment” and “overall job satisfaction”. B. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters between41and50 years old is significantly higher than scout-masters between 31 and 40 years old in the aspects of “job itself”, “environment and equipment” and “overall job satisfaction”. C. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters above 51 years old is significantly higher than scout-masters between 21 and 30 years old in the aspects of “job itself”, “spiritual reward” , “benefit and treatment”, “supporters”, “environment and equipment”, “opportunity to pursue further education” and “overall job satisfaction”. D. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters above 51 years old is significantly higher than scout-masters between 31 and 40 years old in the aspect of “job itself”. (3) With regard to seniority, the difference of job satisfaction of scout-masters in junior high schools is as below. A. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters between3 and 7 years is significantly higher than scout-masters between1 and 2 years in the aspect of “job itself”. B. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters above 8 years is significantly higher than scout-masters between 1 and 2 years in the aspects of “job itself”, “spiritual reward”, and “environment and equipment”. C. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters above 8 years is significantly higher than scout-masters between 3 and 7 years in the aspect of “environment and equipment”. (4) With regard to professional background, the level of job satisfaction of scout-masters with 2 to 3 kinds is significantly higher than scout-masters with 0 to 1 kind in the aspects of “job itself” and “spiritual reward”. 3.Some background variables of the scout-masters in junior high schools are significantly related to their job satisfaction. (1) With regard to school area, the difference of job satisfaction of scout-masters in junior high schools is as below. A. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters in northern Taiwan is significantly higher than scout-masters in Eastern Taiwan in the aspects of “spiritual reward” and “environment and equipment”. B. The level of job satisfaction of scout-masters in northern Taiwan is significantly higher than scout-masters in Central Taiwan in the aspect of “job itself”. (2) With regard to teaching hours reduction, the level of job satisfaction of scout-masters with 1.5 to 2 hour reduction is significantly higher than scout-masters with 0 hour reduction in the aspects of “benefit and treatment”, “environment and equipment” and “overall job satisfaction”. (3) Carrying concurrent administrative tasks or not is irrelevant to job satisfaction of scout-masters in junior high schools. (4) With regard to club property, the level of job satisfaction of scout-masters belonging to regular clubs is significantly higher than scout-masters belonging to irregular clubs in the aspects of “job itself”, “spiritual reward” , “benefit and treatment”, “administration supervision”, “supporters”, “environment and equipment”, and “overall job satisfaction”. 4. Personality of the scout-masters in junior high schools is significantly related to their job satisfaction. The level of job satisfaction of internal-control scout-masters is significantly higher than external-control scout-masters in the aspects of “job itself”, “spiritual reward” ,“administration supervision”, “supporters”, “environment and equipment”, “opportunity to pursue further education”, and “overall job satisfaction”. Finally, according to the findings, some of the suggestions were discussed in order to help improve the job satisfaction of scout-masters and offer consult for further researchers.
