It also wanted to see if the variables, such as perceived exercise benefit, perceived exercise barrier, self-efficacy, and 10 strategies of processes of change could be differentiated in different stages. A total of 284 teachers from Taipei area in Taiwan participated in the study by random sampling. All the data was collected from self-reported questionnaires. Chi-square test, T-test, one way ANOVA, and Scheffe’s multiple- comparison procedure were used for analysis. The results of this study were as following: 1. The Distribution of the stages for exercise behavior took the most part in preparation- PR(40.1 %). Others: precontemplation- PC (5.6 %);contemplation - C(20.4 %);action - AC(8.5 %);and maintenance — MT(25.4 %). 2. The subjects in five stages showed difference in age, perceived health condition, the youngest child’s age, and different exercise items. 3. The subjects in five stages showed difference in perceived benefits of exercise, and MT>PC. 4. The subjects in five stages showed differences in perceived barriers of exercise, and PC>AC & MT;C>MT;P>MT;AC>MT. That meant PC>AC>MT. 5. The subjects in five stages showed difference in self-efficacy, and MT& AC & PR>PC;MT & AC>C, and MT>AC & PR. That meant MT>AC>C. 6. The subjects in five stages showed difference in 10 strategies of processes of change, and those in PC using each process of change were significantly less than those in other stages, either in experiential or behavioral processes.. Recommendations of future researches were advocated at the end of this study. Chen- Yi- H siang 陳益祥 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 85 zh-TW
