碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 企業管理學系 === 92 === The production growth rate of the Opto-electronic industry is increasing recently. The Opto-electronic industry now is the main industry in Taiwan. The merchandise of this industry is often made of few key components. The cost of purchased materials accounts for an average of approximately 60 to 70 percent of merchandise. Supply chain management offers the opportunity to capture the synergy of intra- and inter-company integration and management. The purpose of SCM is to minimize system costs while satisfying service level requirements. SCM is a set of approaches utilized to efficiently integrate suppliers, manufactures, warehouses, and stores, so that merchandise is produced and distributed at the right quantities, to the right locations, and at the right time. In order to achieve this goal, manufactures have to select right supplier to get high quality and low cost products. Therefore, the main purpose of this research is to make an empirical study of the supplier selection in Taiwan''s Opto-electronic industry by case study. The conclusion of this research is as following: 1.The main selection criteria of the Opto-electronic industry are"quality","delivery","technology capability", and "supplier''s records and reference". 2. Due to different product life cycles and supplier''s bargaining power, the importance of these three criteria "price", "service" and "flexibility" are dissimilar. 3. "Supplier''s financial status", "supplier''s manpower" and "information technology" are complemental criteria in the Opto-electronic industry.
