Many studies print several kinds of possible influences of IT on industrial locations. The distances among manufacturers may become larger because of the convenient communication. On the other hand, IT may concentrate manufacturers closely. These possible influences were seldom to be empirically proved.. This study aims to empirically analyze the influences of E-commerce on the distribution of information and electronic (IE) manufacturers. The samples were investigated in Taipei metropolitan area. The independent variables include business scale, road density, zoning, , industrial relationships, and e-commerce application. Two independent variables are considered: One is the distance between IE manufacturers and their inputs suppliers, the other one is the distance between IE manufactures and their outputs buyers. The regression analysis is applied to examine the hypotheses created in this study. The major conclusions aresummarized as follows: 1.E-commerce enlarges the distance between IE manufacturers and their inputs suppliers . However, the above mentioned distance for the IE manufacturers who present strong backward linkage or locate in large-scale industry zone will be decreased after the application of E-commerce.. 2.E-commerce enlarges the distance between IE manufacturers and their outputs buyers. 3.The influences of E-commerce on the locations of IE manufacturers present insignificant difference among variant industrial types. Based on the conclusions of empirical study, this research recommends the following strategies for the industrial land use planning: 1.Disperse large-scale industry parks. 2.Develop comprehensive industry park to contain the IE manufacturers and their inputs suppliers. 3.Supply convenient transportation systems among industry parks. In oder to reach the more convinced conclusions and strategies , the following issues are recommended for further researches: 1.Use continuos index to measure the degress of E-commerce application; 2.Investigate the influences for various phases of E-commerce application; 3.Use time-series analysis to analyze the before and after study; 4.Analyze the influences for various industry sectors; 5.Analyze the spatial relationships among homogeneous manufacturers . 碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 都市計劃研究所 === 92 === The application of information technology (IT) is one of the major tendencies in the future.
The major conclusions aresummarized as follows:
1.E-commerce enlarges the distance between IE manufacturers and their inputs suppliers .
Based on the conclusions of empirical study, this research recommends the following strategies for the industrial land use planning:
1.Disperse large-scale industry parks.
2.Develop comprehensive industry park to contain the IE manufacturers and their inputs suppliers.
3.Supply convenient transportation systems among industry parks.
In oder to reach the more convinced conclusions and strategies , the following issues are recommended for further researches:
1.Use continuos index to measure the degress of E-commerce application;
2.Investigate the influences for various phases of E-commerce application;
3.Use time-series analysis to analyze the before and after study;
4.Analyze the influences for various industry sectors;
5.Analyze the spatial relationships among homogeneous manufacturers .
