Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 機械工程學研究所 === 92 === This thesis studies the static and dynamic stability of a shallow arch subjected to concentrated moments. The method used by Timoshenko, Fung and Simitses is employed for static stability analysis. The critical loads required for inducing snap-through buckling under different conditions using a couple of symmetric concentrated moment are investigated in detail. The relations between the critical load and location of the concentrate moments with different initial heights are presented. It is found that concentrated impulsive loads may generate unbounded initial kinetic energy. Therefore, distributed loads are employed to simulate concentrated moments for dynamic analysis. A two-stage method for applying load is proposed to drive the arch moving between two stable equilibrium positions. In this method, moment are applied in the first stage for inducing snap-through buckling, and then removed gradually such that the arch can stay in the lower equilibrium position. Effects of the unloading rate on the feasible range of the magnitude of the applied moments are studied.
