In order to achieve reasonable data trafficking and meaningful decision-making, the local monitoring unit is required to collect biomedical data and perform some degrees of diagnostics. This thesis describes the error correction code (ECC) technique and the biomedical signal processing and diagnostic technique used in the system. The ECC code is based on the standard parity check, the Hamming coding, and the Manchester coding techniques. The ECC codes are embedded in the communication module that linked to the wireless communication module.
