This results in improper common practice of weight reducing among the young and even harms their body and mind. Adolescences is the period of rapid change in body and mind. It is the time when adolescents pay attention to their inner conflict and care about appearance evaluation. This is also the time they start to be curious about the opposite sex. Nowadays making friends on Internet becomes more and more common. The issue of adolescents’ sexual behaviors have been more and more emphasized. The purpose of this study was to investigate the adolescents’ self-esteem, body image amd sexual behaviors. Via different personal background of students of senior vocational schools in Kaohsiung City, it is to understand ther self-esteem, body image and sexual behaviors. This study conducted questionnaires of 1,292 students in the 3rd grade of senior vocational schools in Kaohsiung City. The questionnaire consisted of four sections: Personal Background Survey, the Self-esteem Scale, the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire and Sexual Behavior Survey. Statistical analysis using in the study included descriptive statistical, t-test, one-way ANOVA, chi-square, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and logistic regression. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1. Almost 80% of adolescents came from the low SES. 2. The level of self-esteem is between middle and high among adolescents tended to “ positive”. 3. The level of body image is between middle and high among adolescents tended to “ positive”. 4. Private school students and boys were aware of the higher levels of sex behaviors than public school students and girl. 5. Regarding to “self-esteem”, male students are significantly higher than female students and students from middle and high social and economic class are significantly higher than those from low social and economic class. 6. Regarding to “body image”, students from public senior vocational schools are significantly higher than students from private senior vocational schools; male students are significantly higher than female students; and students from middle and high social and economic class are significantly higher than those from low social and economic class. 7. There is a positive correlation between self-esteem and body image for adolescence. Adolescents’ self-esteem were positively and aggressively,the body image were positively and aggressively。 8. School, gender, self-esteem, and the body image-appearance evaluation were four of the best factors to predict the adolescents’ sexual behaviors. Based on the findings and conclusion of this study, it is strongly suggested that youngsters should learn to be responsible for their own behavior and have proper concept of their self-understanding and evaluation. For school aspects, they should strengthen and promote the concept of “safe sexual behavior” and “AIDS prevention and cure.” They should also advance healthy weight losing methods and nutrition knowledge for adolescents. It is also recommended that schools should seek parent support and assistance to their youngsters through parenting education and parent effectiveness training (P.E.T.). To educational authorities, the government should enhance its propaganda about the importance of sexual education through community empowerment and building learning families. It should also hold various related educational trainings in order to achieve the goal of installing correct concept of healthy body and mind on adolescents.
