| Summary: | 碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 資訊傳播研究所 === 92 === The purpose of this research is to investigate usability factors of web navigation design, in order to improve the website’s quality and user’s satisfaction.
The questionnaire was developed from usability guidelines of web navigation. Prior to the implementation of the survey, the questionnaire was reviewed by experts and was retested. The Cronbach’s α was 0.9402. The result of the study indicated that reliability.
The survey was executed on WWW. There are 12 factors have been identified. Those factors are: “consistency”, “easy to move and learn”, “easy to distinction”, “match convention”, “easy to get control tools”, “ clear web identification”, “clear location indication”, “minimalist design”, “control freedom and error management”, “suitability for indication” and “provide feedback and choice”.
The result supports the previous research result of usability guidelines of web navigation design. There were two most important guidelines that were recognized by users, which were “provide clear and understandable message”, “display the website’s structure and context correctly”. Besides, the result of ANOVA analysis indicated that some factors were affected by live area, level of education, web navigation time and WWW Skill Level. Those factors were “easy to distinction”, “match convention”, “clear location indication”, “consistency” and “minimalist design”.
