碩士 === 世新大學 === 經濟學系 === 92 === Abstract In recent years, the integrated domestic financial environment has consequential alteration and banks are facing more and more challenges to operation. Therefore, how to analyze the advantage and weakness of competition and choose best business strategy to pursue the optimal effect are not only the goal for bank managers, but also the subject that public investors and governmental institutions concern mutually. This is the launching point of this research, hoping through two different angles (by factor analysis and data envelopment analysis) to deeply and objectively analyze the operating performances by aiming at effectiveness and efficiency of various banks under new environment and as reference for further enhancing competitiveness in the future. The instance result found that there are discrepancies between the instance results by two research methods. Based on this, instead of using single research method to discuss banks'' operating achievement by most of past articles, this research suggests that the result will be more reliable if using above two research methods and put them to comprehensive comparison and verification from different directions.
