The mold industry can drive the development of other relevant industry .We can also find out the industrialized degree and the level of technology from mold. In addition, the output value and imports and exports value of the Taiwan plastic mold industry take overall and quite high proportion of the mold. It is in extensive range to use the products. Compare with other countries of Asia, Taiwan plastic mold industry belongs to the high technical ability level, high outputs direction .It is an indispensable role for develops high-accuracy fields, such as orientation 3C in the future of Taiwan, etc. With the development of information technology, the mold industry use automation equipment such as CAD/CAM, NC tool machine in conformity with the trend. Mold industry changed into the capital-intensive from the labor-intensive, replaced most manufacturing process by hand in the past with machining. But, the mold industry, in order to combine the typical brain industries of technical ability and automation equipment, need and could be formed the high competitiveness via the complementation of the two. The thesis clarifies the automation degree and the degree of skill demand. Four type of manufacture characteristic are developed, which are foundation support, equipment direction, work along both lines, and craft model. By analyzing the content of these four types of manufacture characteristic and develop the skill impartation types .Then, conducting case studies on the Taiwan’s plastic mold industry, this thesis can show the impact on automation to skill changes and skill impartation. The result presents four type of manufacture characteristic and the manufacture characteristics have dynamic change with development of automation. In addition, the skill impartation didn’t change.
