Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 有機高分子研究所 === 92 === This dissertation studies the influence of different synthetic procedures on molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, and luminescent properties of MEH-PPV. Additives are used to control molecular weight and polydispersity (PDI) of MEH-PPV as well as to circumvent the problem of gelation. However, it takes more steps and the molecular weight is not easily controlled. Our experiments show that adjusting the addition order of base or monomer and the concentration of base has substantial effect on molecular weight and PDI of MEH-PPV. A series of experiments have been conducted with radical and anionic additives to explore further the possibility of its mechanism. The optimal molar ratio of base to monomer is found to be around 4. Those synthesized MEH-PPV polymers have the absorption peak at 495nm. From the spectrum analysis of photoluminescence and electroluminescence, it shows that MEH-PPV polymers with higher molecular weight and lower PDI have better luminescent intensity.
