In order to analyze the stability of individual rock block, it is necessary to understand the factors that control the friction force of the discontinuities which separate the block. Based on the normal stress and shear stress, applied the shear strength and displacement of the rock with discontinuity were simulated. The purpose of this study is to establish a method which can estimate the parameters of the discontinuities, and this the shear strength and displacement of rock discontinuities ca be determined. Was used FLAC 3D 2.0(Itasca)based on force equilibrium and Coulomb Criterion to establish models of triangle teeth with different roughness. The models established in this study can investigate the variation of shear strength of discontinuities , displacement of the rock block and the relationship among them mentioned above, The result of this study indicates that the normal stress has a positive effect on the shear stress and negative relationship with shear strain and displacement of the rock block. In addition, the shear stress and strain of discontinuities are lower than those of failure model. Ding Yung Chin 丁原智 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 97 zh-TW
