Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系 === 92 === From the Cave-dwelling Age to the Present-dwelling Age, a village to a mega-city, the requirements and issues of human beings’ dwellings are constantly re-solving and re-transforming. Once Heidigger said: today’s houses may even be well planned...but, do the houses in themselves hold any guarantee that dwelling occurs in them? How do we make good use of our urban space? And how do we define what kind of space as an urban space? What kind of certain appearances can be appeared as Taipei City ever since the functionalism of CIAM? Not only has the globalization made the metropolises all over the world homogeneous, and it also made the metropolises becoming heterogeneous. The coexistence with the service and the environment of a city makes Taipei has two conditions which are different but also interdependent: the problem-solving from the top-down and from the bottom-up. In fact, the culture of bottom-up for common culture makes Taipei not only a functional city but an organic city. The culture of bottom-up or common culture consciously or unconsciously brings congested urban space came into being. The history of Taipei City was made for ages. We absorb in the studies of urban planning and reconstruct them. As time goes on, we will change our urban space and the lifestyle of city. The main purpose of this research is to explore the heterogeneous urban space of Taipei by my own self’s photographs, records, and descriptions from a bottom-up perspective. Through the observations of this research, describing the urban extensity of the citizens in congested Taipei, and the urban spaces used by the citizens that make those spaces come to the optimum state for them. The use of urban space underneath the requirements of human beings’ dwellings becomes unanticipated and brings forth new significances. The two different powers of the top-down and the bottom-up interact and interpose each other. Thus, represents the urban extensity of the citizens in congested Taipei.
