Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 92 === Based on analyzing documents and interviewing an eligible focus groups, the purpose of this study is to examine the current situation of principal professional development of Taipei elementary schools, and how these principals utilize the resource system of principal professional development. The study was conducted through five interviews with a focus group, which was consisted of thirty-two principals with different levels of experiences in their professions. The interviews were to explore the points below: the importance of principal professional development, the value of the content of principal professional development resource system, the effectiveness of the procedure of individualized principal professional development, the adequacy of the criteria of principal professional development, and the prospect for the principal professional development resource system. With meticulously examining the interview results and contrasting with references, five conclusions from this research were drawn: 1. Principal professional development is very important. 2. The criteria for the resource system of principal professional development are adequate. However, the criteria still leaves some room for improvement. 3. The procedure of individualized principal professional development is effective. 4. The content of the resource system of principal professional development is quite valuable. 5. The resource system for principal professional development can be improved by the following suggestions: providing the fund, hiring experts to run the resource system, updating the website, increasing the rate of usage, developing promotion and marketing strategies, providing resources and establishing a network with groups of experts. In conclusion, the study offers some suggestions, which can be used by the institutes of the educational administration, National Institute of Educational Resources and Research, principals and educational researchers as the references of principal professional development.
