Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 應用語言文學研究所 === 92 === Thesis abstract San-Mau, original name “Chen Maw-Pyng”, renamed as “Chen Pyng” and was born in 1943. During the 60’s and 70’s, she was the most famous writer and her works including 27 best selling books, translations, and audio publishing were published by Crown Publisher. The rapidly changing society and her diversified works made her a cultural star. Soon, her works were introduced into the mainland and resulted in “San-Mau fever”. Then, “Biography of San-Mau”, “Legend of San-Mau” and “About San-Mau” were published in Mainland a few years later. Though not finishing high school and striving for the “out of the tracks” life, she caused the “Sahara storm” in literature, which was so called “San-Mau Twister”. Her popular speeches and literary works were always the focus of press and media during those days. After she passed away, people in her ancestral hometown in mainland dedicated to rebuilding her grandfather’s old house as “San-Mau memorial hall”. Meanwhile, “San-Mau research center” was ready to be established in Hung-Chao University. Due to those phenomena mentioned above, San-Mau played a very important role in readers’ mind both in Taiwan and mainland China.
