This thesis is intended to design a hardware architecture for fractal image coding. The application of fractal coding has been proposed in the literature, but the research of the hardware architecture for fractal image coding is few. In this thesis, we proposed a new fractal image coding architecture based on the predetermined kick-out condition [7] to reduce the computational load.
