The result of this study can be used as reference for the promoting leisure sports to the faculty and staff of colleges. “The questionnaire survey on Recreational Sport Participation and Constraint Factors for Faculty and Staff of National Yunlin University of Science & Technology” was adopted as a research instrument. 468 questionnaires were distributed and 300 questionnaires were retrieved. Therefore, the retrieval rate of questionnaire is 64.10%. Moreover, 269 questionnaires were effective and the effective rate of questionnaire had reached 89.66%. Descriptive statistics, explore factor analysis, t- test, One-way ANOVA, Scheffe-test were used for the major statistical techniques. The results of this study were as follows: (1) The proportion of the faculty and staff who participated in regular recreational sports in NYUST is relatively low. (42.4%). 32.4% faculty and staff of NYUST participated in recreational sports over 3 times per week. (2) Faulty and staff with different background show significant variance in their recreational sports participation. (3) Faulty and staff with different background show significant variance in their constraints of recreational sports. (4) The main recreational sport constraint of faculty and staff is work factor. The primary recreational sport they participated is fitness. Mostly, the faculty and staff participated in recreational sport after work.
