Because hospital play an important role in the society that concern people's life and health and death, the management of a hospital system should differs from general manufacturing industry. This research attempts to combine the use of the widely studied RFID technology into the indispensable manual hospital work system and medical information system to improve management efficiency and minimize the chance of negligent. It is hoped that such an improved system can increase the patient care standard as well as streaming the services of medical resources.
From the case studies and questionnaires investigation, this study found, it is known that the application of RFID in the hospital field can improve hospital management standard and its service quality. Due to cost concern, however, the application rate of this system is not significant at the present. It is obvious that the RFID will bring about new and benefiting contributions to the hospital management when the running cost of such system reduces to an optimal level.
