However, little such study has been done in Taiwan. On the other hand, there is a tendency toward two dimensions, “the object of mental models” and “the predominant feeling about that object”, to classify different types of attachment styles. Therefore, we knew that the “self-working” model and “other-working” model were the two main factors of four attachment styles. There were two purposes for this study. The first was to learn what was the relationship among three subscales of Borderline Personality Organization Scale (BPO). The second was to learn what was the influence of self/other-working models toward attachment types. It was also expected to learn the attachment styles of borderline personality. Totally 683 people were recruited in this study from college and senior high school. The instruments used in this study were Relationship Style Questionnaire (RSQ), BPO and Self/Other-working Scale. The results revealed as the following: (1) The number of sample of “Secure” and “preoccupied” attachment styles were more than others, and four percent samples involved borderline personality based on their scores. (2) Both “preoccupied” and “fearful” positively correlated with borderline personality, and “secure” negatively correlated with three borderline personality dimensions. (3) The percentage of females was more than males in “fearful” attachment style. The percentage of males was more than females in “dismissing” attachment style. (4) The mean of “identity diffusion” in senior high school students were lower than that of college students. The mean of “reality” in college students were lower than that of senior high school students, and females were lower than males. (5) Self/other-working were not only the main factors to forecast the borderline personality, but also influence the borderline personality by attachment styles. Promoting the attachment function between parents and children were important for “increase secure” and “decrease preoccupied”. Furthermore, improving the mental hygiene education will decline the incidence of borderline personality. none 林明傑 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 118 zh-TW
