Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 教育研究所 === 93 === The Case Study of a Junior High School Principal’s Transformational Leadership A Thesis for Master Degree of Education By Su-Hui Wu National Chung Cheng University, 2005 Abstract The main aims of this study are to explore the practical aspects of the transformational leadership of a junior high school principal, and to investigate the impacts of the transformational leadership on school administrative affairs. The recommendations were proposed to those principals, willing to implement the transformational leadership, according to the results of the research as well as literature reviews. The research method of this study is the case study of qualitative research. The results of the study are as follows: The practical aspects of the transformational leadership of a junior high school principal involved in several aspects, such as the charisma and idealized effects of transformational leading behaviors, inspirational vision, goal consensus, high performance expectations, individual consideration, intellectual stimulation, modeling, contingent reward, and culture building, etc. The transformational leadership of a principal indeed has great influence on the school administrative affairs, including i)benefit the professional growth of school staff, ii) diversify the learning performances of students, iii) improve the interaction with the community, iv) elevate the entire achievement and effectiveness of the school, v) construct the warmth and harmony of school culture. Several recommendations were proposed: 1) The concepts of the transformational leadership should be strengthened. 2) The ability to put the transformational leadership into practice should be cultivated in order to pilot a school to develop distinctive features. 3) The influence of intellectual stimulation should be developed so as to lead the school to turn into a learning community.
