Summary:碩士 === 長庚大學 === 資訊工程研究所 === 93 === Today, mobile devices have widely used and tightly coupled with our daily life. One of the critical issues for mobile devices is power aware design. Since operations on a mobile device rely on batteries to provide power supply, energy-efficient power management will facilitate to extend system lifetime. The file system plays an important role in an operating system. By means of the file system, all user access to data and programs will be carried out. In this thesis, we have implemented a power management policy through the file system caching mechanism. We have achieved the goal with low power design by using the disk power mode switching appropriately. According to the preliminary experimental results, our system could save 4 to 10 percent energy.
