This study tries to find out the relationship between the adoption of green mark and its impacts on manufacturers’ overall performance in Taiwan. Many reports pointed out that the eco-labeling can improve the market and affect the manufacturers’ cost, operating, sales and financial efficiencies. Also, the eco-labeling, which is held and named as “green mark” in Taiwan, is aimed at telling the consumers which kinds of products are better and more friendly for the environment, such as saving energy and water, reusing resource and decreasing the pollution. The eco-labeling is a part of ISO 14000. Its related standards are recorded in ISO 14020. The system of ISO 14020 establishes the basic common rules, while the details may be different for different countries or organizations. Thus, in this study we focus on the “green mark”, which has been recently introduced in Taiwan and try to investigate the current situation and affects on manufacturers of its adoption.
