However, the great diversity of insurance products urged people to consult with insurance brokers on tailor-made contracts. With the Internet booming, the insurance enterprise has been building up websites to provide insurance related information and products except for the insurance of the person, which needs lots of efforts in planning and discussing with clients to come up with a contract fit for each requisition.
Thus, this thesis develops an intelligent web-based insurance planning system to optimize the insurance policy of the person. This system uses CBR-BDI agents that combine CBR (Case-Based Reasoning) and BDI (Beliefs, Desires, Intentions) techniques to automate personalized insurance contract. The BDI approach to design deliberative agents can be improved with the learning capabilities of CBR techniques.
This thesis applies the CBR-BDI agent techniques to the intelligent web-based insurance planning system, which deals with the personalized insurance policy of the person. As an alternative, the system creates an on-line agent environment to enable the insurance enterprises to implement the planning of insurance of person through the Internet easily. For the academy discipline of the field, this thesis presents an application to CBR-BDI agent techniques with related techniques and also sets the pattern for others to follow.
