The purpose is as follows: (1) to understand the need of parents, to answer parents’ relevant questions about learning English in early childhood and distinguish their confusion on this issue. (2) to assess the effects and feasibility of this project and offer the positive suggestions. Two main parts in the design of this parent education project were focus group interview and theme lecture. The purpose of the group interview was to understand parents’ attitude and need toward the issue before the lectures were implemented; the questionnaire and individual interview after the lectures were used to investigate the opinions and suggestions of parents, the kindergarten teachers, and the lecturer in order to evaluate the effects and feasibility of the project. The conclusion of this research is as follows: 1.Parents’ need regarding the issue about preschoolers’ English learning. The results shows that parents hope to understand the topics about English teachers, whole English teaching, teaching materials, the transition between kindergarten and elementary school, the key period, pronunciation, and how to help young children to gain English ability etc,. Also, parents concerned that if bilingual learning would cause the confusion of young children. 2.The effects of implementing the parent education project. Parents, the kindergarten teachers, and the lecturer all agreed the project is very helpful for them. Parents expressed that this project offered the opportunity for them to discuss, think in advance and ask relevant questions so that their thoughts and need can be understood indeed. And then, the lecturer can aim at the requirements to produce a great result. Moreover, parents can take the chance to build the interactive network. The kindergarten said the implementation of this project makes all participants get more relevant information and be able to learn more. And the lecturer said that the design of the project can really help her to understand the concern of the parents so that the kindergarten teachers can aim at the requirements and come up with solutions. 3.The feasibility of implementing the parent education project The suggestions from parents, the kindergarten teachers, and the lecturers showed that the design of this parent education project is feasible. At last, according to the procedures the researcher drew up a complete “The checklist of implementing the parent education project” in order to offer the kindergartens which are intend to implement this project in the future as reference.
