The qualitative research method was used in this study. Three retired standing officers were interviewed and described. The main findings were found as follows. I. Motives of retirement of standing officers: 1. Environmental factors: including the systems of promotion, the restrictions of military specialty, the codes of lifetime retirement pension, and the interactions of outsiders. 2. Personal consciousness: including the over-comfort of the working conditions and the changes of whole military environment. Ⅱ. Transformation of psychological conditions of retired standing officers 1. Personal consciousness in a positive way. 2. Rational analysis on emotional reaction. 3. Lack of society connection on behavior reaction. Ⅲ. Factors in reference to the career planning of the retired standing officers: 1. Personal characteristics. 2. Self consciousness. 3. Personality power. 4. Core value. 5. Influence from people around. 6. Goal and plan of career. Ⅳ. Factors in reference to the career transformation of the retired standing officers: 1. The difficulties: including the prejudice against officers, the shortage of professional techniques, and more age and less network of human resources. 2. The adapting strategies: a procedure from depression, meditation, and searching for outside assistance to positive thinking. Ⅴ. Requirement of the career planning of the retired standing officers. 1. The requirement of job training. 2. The requirement of a special-purpose organization. 3. The requirement of the ways to obtain jobs. 4. The requirement of the information of jobs. 5.
