These networks are usually applied to monitor battlefields, biological detection, civilian, and health usages. Especially in the unreachable area, one can keep it under surveillance by spreading a large amount of sensing devices through airplane. The sensing data is reported to base station or remote users by sensing devices through wireless communication. In wireless sensor networks, sensing devices are usually powered by battery. In the densely deployed sensor networks, the area and data sensed by sensors may be similar or overlap. One of the important issues in wireless sensor networks is how to increase the network efficiency under the power limitation. In recent researches, scheduling has been proposed to conserve power consumption. By selecting appropriate sensor nodes into sleep state, the network lifetime can be prolonged without dropping the sensing performance. To improve the service of wireless sensor networks, we should take account of energy conservation and coverage integrity simultaneously. The more area is covered, the more data can be sensed, which benefits user to gather integrated data. Therefore, it is a big challenge to lengthen the network lifetime and preserve coverage area efficiently. Hence, we propose a coverage-preserved node scheduling scheme which bases on cluster architecture to prolong the network lifetime and conserve energy consumption and make sure that the covered area will be sensed and reported in a dense and large wireless sensor network.
