Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 大眾傳播學研究所 === 93 === This thesis attempts to describe the interaction between mankind and technology through a close textual analysis of thirteen science-fiction films from late 1980s till now. It also studies the subjectivity of “Machine/Human” in those films. How is the nature of mankind presented? How is the identity of human creation defined? What is the definition of subjectivity and the identification mechanism of “Machine/Human”? These questions will be the main route constructing the research of this thesis. Science-fiction films on one hand keep on drawing audience into a fictional world with fantasy; on the other hand, through the application of film language they verge on reality with negative of images, artificial manipulation and flat character . This is the double lacks presented by science-fiction films. Therefore, “Machine/Human”, being the void of embodiment, to some extent becomes the outlet of the death drive of the audience. Images of the future presented here is the most appealing part of modern science-fiction films.
