Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 宗教學系 === 93 === This is ‘‘A study of the Spiritual Writtings in Compassion Society of Taiwan.” The study is composed of Six Chapters. They are: The Preface to the Compassion Society Theology and Its Development, The System of Scripture in Compassion Society, The Spirit-Writing System in Compassion Society’s Local Branch, The System of Magazine in Compassion Society, and Observations in Recent Compassion Society. The full text is intended to describe the spirit writing concerning thirty-eight phoenix books written during the past 50 years by fourteen different local branches of Compassion Society. Among these thirty-eight phoenix books analyzed, there are seven types of scripture, fifteen types of local branch halls spirit-writing in Compassion Society, and sixteen types of magazines. The phoenix books of Scripture were prevalent from the 1950s - 1970s. This first stage of phoenix books is about metaphysics, which is intended to answer the questions “where do humans come from” and “where are they going”. Following is the second stage, phoenix books of the local branch halls. These are published from the 1960s - 1980s and were made for the believers to announce public affairs, deal with private affairs, intensify the faith of believers, to help achieve temple building, and encourage the mission of rescuing people from the evil world. Phoenix books of the magazine type are prevalent from 1980s onward, known as the third stage. This plethora of writing is divided into six subjects between two categories. By means of interpretation of those phoenix books, the author tries to analyze the way Compassion Society is absorbing other spirit-writing cult’s theology in the initial stage, how it is strengthening the faith of believers in the middle stage, and how it is preaching the salvation movement of Mu-Niang in the near future. Through this analysis, the author develops suggestions for the continuation of Compassion Society development. The Spirit-writing (fu-luan or fu-chi) ceremony of Compassion Society (ci-hui-tang). The salvation movement of Mu-Niang (Yao-chih Chin-muã Queen Mother Golden Mother). The phoenix books of Compassion Society (phoenix books of Scripture phoenix books of the local branch halls phoenix books of the magazines).
