Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 教育領導與發展研究所 === 93 === The purpose of this study is to explore the relationships between the “teaching beliefs” and the “teaching effectiveness” of teachers teaching in elementary adult school, and to propose suggestions from the research results, so as to be a reference for educational administration departments and adult school teachers. The investigation tool used in this study was questionnaire edited on the theoretic foundation of documents discussing about the relationships between teaching beliefs and teaching effectiveness. With the distribution of questionnaire and the interview of the target teachers, the relevant information of the teaching beliefs and teaching effectiveness of Taipei County elementary adult school teachers was collected. After examining and analyzing the collected data, conclusions were induced, and then practicable suggestions were made accordingly. The targets studied were mainly Taipei County elementary adult school teachers, totally 455 of them. The collected data was examined and analyzed with Frequency Distribution, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Stepwise Regression, T-Test, One-way ANOVA and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, and conclusions were reached as following: 1. The teaching beliefs and teaching effectiveness of elementary adult school teachers in Taipei County are in middle level. “Teacher-student relationship has the highest score in “teaching beliefs” while “the role of teacher” gets the lowest. The performance of “teaching effectiveness” needs to be enhanced in “the adaptation to the influence of environmental change”. 2. There is no significant difference in teaching beliefs for gender, education, teaching subject and advanced study for adult teachers. Teachers with over 11-year experience have higher teaching beliefs, and part-time administrators among part-time education personnel have higher teaching beliefs. Teachers teaching in schools with over 7 classes get higher score. 3. There is difference in “teaching effectiveness” for Taipei County elementary adult school teachers due to different personal background. Overall, part-time adult school administrators and teachers in schools that have over 7 classes have the highest teaching efficiency. 4. There is a high level positive relevance between “teaching beliefs” and “teaching effectiveness” in Taipei County elementary adult school teachers. “Teaching beliefs” do influence “teaching effectiveness”. 5. The “teaching effectiveness” of Taipei County elementary adult school teachers can be predicted by their “teaching beliefs”.
