The requirement of quality was promoted constantly for customer. In order to satisfy the marketing demand, the manufacture had to improve the functions and appearances of products. The nonconformities for cell-phone battery influence its appearance and power supply. Therefore, this research will apply the Taguchi Experimental Design to improve the nonconformities of plastic appearance for cell-phone battery, It will help the manufacturer to promote the quality of the product, and to fit the marketing demand for the short life cycle and fast change product. This research selects important parameter which influences plastic appearance of cell-phone battery by the case-and-effect diagram analysis, including one set of 2 levels controls factor and seven sets of 3 levels controllable factors. The experiment repeated 10 times runs with the L18 orthogonal array, and measured the multiple quality characteristics for the combination of line, peel, shrink and out of shape. The analytical process will consider the weighting analysis of working expert. The results are compared with other methods of Xiao(1990)、Wang(2001)、Wu(2002)、Wang(2001), and confirmed the results by confirmation experiment. The results can reduce the quality loss of injection molding for the plastic appearance of cell-phone battery to about 30%, and can be extend horizontally to other styles of cell-phone battery for the improvement of quality.
