The monitor can measure general power parameters, harmonic distortion factor and voltage flicker. To reduce the memory size an improved voltage flicker calculation algorithm is proposed, and the feasibility of the algorithm was validated by simulation and field test. A knob is used to select the range of voltage, function keys are provided on the main board, and an LCD monitor is used to display both waveforms and numerical results. Thus, the users can choose their favorite way to observe. At last different loads including harmonic and nonharmonic sources are tested to validate the functions of the monitor, and the performances of the monitor are compared with those of a digital power meter.
